Introduction

With Zimbra Connector for Apple iSync, you can synchronize data between ISC's Zimbra server and your Mac OS Address and calendar data.

Follow the instructions below for Zimbra Connector for Apple iSync and connectivity with ISC's Zimbra server.

Configuration Instructions

  1. Download and install the Zimbra Connect for Apple iSync package. You'll need to supply PennKey authentication to download this software.
  2. Launch System Preferences and click the Zimbra icon in the Other section at the bottom.
  3. Click the Account tab.
  4. In the Description: field, enter Zimbra Calendar (or some equivalent).
  5. In the Server: field, enter zimbra.upenn.edu .
  6. Click the Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) checkbox. The Server port: field automatically changes to 443; keep this setting.
  7. In the User Name: field, supply your Zimbra account username (typically your PennKey).
  8. In the Password: field, supply your Zimbra account password. If you have entered valid credentials, the status indicator next to the name of the profile (Zimbra Calendar) will turn green.
  9. Click the Sync tab.
  10. Click the Contacts checkbox to synchronize your contacts data. Click on the checkboxes for those contacts you wish to synchronize with the Zimbra server.
  11. Click the Calendars checkbox to synchronize your calendar data. Click on the checkboxes for those calendars you wish to synchronize with the Zimbra server.
  12. In the Synchronize: field, select a frequency from the dropdown menu to choose how often data are synchronized.
  13. Click the Sync Now button if you would like to synchronize you data right now; otherwise, close System Preferences.

Your Mac OS contacts and calendars will now synchronize with the Zimbra server.
