Vista:64-bit University-Centric Compatibility

The following is an alphabetical list of Windows applications in use at the University and their compatibility status with the 64-bit versions of Microsoft's new Windows Vista operating system. In most cases, only the latest versions of the applications have been listed, though recent versions are listed if they require a paid upgrade.
A
- Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.06 - compatible
- AOL Client 9.0.x - does not function correctly
- AOL has released 9.0 VR (Vista Ready), which is mostly compatible with 64-bit Vista
- AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) 5.9.x - generally compatible but not supported by AOL
- AOL Instant Messenger 6.1 will be compatible. 6.0 is generally compatible but not supported by AOL
Adobe - see Bridge, Dreamweaver, Flash Player, Photoshop, Reader

- BEN Deposits - unknown
- BEN Financials - not compatible
- Does not install properly on any version of Windows Vista; Service tickets are open with both Markview and Oracle
- Markview indicates it will certify Internet Explorer 7 in 2007, but gives no date

- Version 5.1 did not install during testing; more tests to be completed on version XI
- Bridge (Adobe Bridge) - Mostly compatible

- Some shortcut keys do not work because they are now reserved by Windows
- KFtp proxy also functions and passes Kerberos tickets

- Eudora 6.2.x and 7.0.x - compatible, with the following limitations:
- Kerberos functionality is only enabled if the Kerberos for Windows client is open
- Penn Online Directory (LDAP) searches do not work, because new search directories are unable to be defined
- Eudora Help File will not work
- ewido security suite 4.0 - does not function correctly
- ewido security suite is being replaced by AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5, which also currently does not work with Vista

- Remedy 6.3 - doesn't function with normal installation
- Installation under 'Compatibility Mode', as described here will allow Remedy to run normally. Additionally, the Remedy web interface functions in IE7 and Firefox
